Wasatch Front Shop Hop June 13-16, 2012

Ladies the Wasatch Front Shop Hop is just around the corner. It is a lot of fun to go from store to store to see what fun new spring projects are available. It is also gives us a chance to go to other stores we might not usually spend the time traveling too. I hope everyone has a few minutes in their busy days to find time to do some quality shop hopping!

Charity Quilts!!!

Vickie Davis brought by a charity quilt today that she had helped work on. It was pieced by Dorothy Gross and then long arm and bound by Vickie. Absolutely beautiful ladies! I'm so blessed to know the talented ladies that make up our guild. I'm exicted as well to deliver these charity quilts to the church leaders and represent you all in doing so.

There are a couple other quilts in the works by other members in the guild and Thank You for your continued work on these as well. I look forward to seeing them completed.

I'm super excited to see the blocks you all have done that will go towards the guilds quilt that we will give to Quilts of Valor. It will be another great way for our guild members to thank a serviceman or woman for their sacrifices to give us the freedom to express our creativity in the ways we do.

Excitement in February!

February's meeting is next Tuesday! We will start with a little bit of business and reminders of the year's activities. Francine Simkins, Lurdus Larrinaga, and Jan Turner will spend a few minutes each telling us about their quilting history. Our first installment of "Quilt History" will be presented with handouts. We have a wonderful visitor coming to tell us about the Quilts of Valor Foundation and what incredible things they are doing for our service men and women! We want to see what you have been working on so bring your "Show and Tell". As always we want you to come and enjoy a few hours of learning a new thing or two, meeting new people, building stronger frienships and continuing this passion we all share!

Welcome!

The Southridge Quilters blog is now up and running. We will be posting information from our guild meetings as well as our show in tell pictures and other fabulous fun things we run across. I'm looking for a calendar to add to the blog to post up coming events. If anyone has any suggestions we are open to those as well. For now there isn't much to check out. Come back often to see what we have going on!
